As founders of Universal-Automatic
Corporation, the Klancnik family has seen the machine tool industry
grow and change since the company was started in 1957. Part tolerances,
for example, have become increasingly tighter, customers that
want to hold tenths, or closer, instead of thousandths are now
commonplace. Even though tolerances have changed, the vision
for Universal-Automatic has not. Our vision is still to design
and build high-quality, reliable machine tools using the newest
and best technology available in order to provide customers with
increased productivity and greater manufacturing precision at
a lower cost. This vision of quality control and machine reliability
has set the standards we follow every day at Universal-Automatic.
When Universal-Automatic originated
our primary products were pneumatic drilling and tapping equipment
and imaginative tooling concepts. Derived through time our customers
have continually challenged us to keep improving upon ourselves,
and we have expanded our creative manufacturing systems over
the years. Our engineering staff now designs most of our machines
specifically to our customer's specification and the parts the
machine will process. By seeing these tasks as opportunities
and not boundaries, we have developed all of the skills necessary
to build world class machinery. We have gone from pneumatic head
units to building hydraulic and high precision ballscrew servo
driven units that are among the highest quality in the world
market. We now have the ability to build complete systems with
automation, automatic gauging and complete part flexibility.
